Clinton accident snarls traffic

A two-car accident on Highway 525 Saturday sent a woman to the hospital.

As her car crossed the northbound lane, it struck a 1998 Saturn SL 2 driven by Jennifer McCormick, 27, of Coupeville. The Plymouth hit the Saturn in the driver’s side front corner, stopping the vehicle and causing the air bags to deploy.Fire District 3 medics and Whidbey General paramedics examined McCormick and Ellison at the scene. Though both had exited their cars on their own, the paramedics decided to transport McCormick to Whidbey General Hospital for treatment for a possible neck injury. Ellison was cleared by paramedics and did not need an ambulance ride.Crownover cited Ellison for failing to yield. Both cars were heavily damaged in the crash and were towed by Simmons Towing and AA Towing to the Simmons impound lot. “
