Construction to install a new right turn lane from Harbor Avenue to Highway 525 in Freeland will begin on Monday.

A news release sent out from the county said the job is expected to relieve minor traffic build ups by separating left and right turning movements.

The construction job will also include increasing the right turn area from Highway 525 onto Harbor Avenue, reconfiguring associated culverts and ditches and painting new pavement markings.

Construction will primarily be on road shoulders, but there will be times when a lane of traffic will be closed, the county said in a news release.

Work is expected to take two to three weeks.
