In back are Christie Robinson, Mary McCune, coach Jim Walker, Danielle Burton and Kelsey Broderick.The Langley Middle School eighth grade girls fastpitch team wrapped up an undefeated season with a 9-2 win over Marysville this week. The Lady Cougars finished with a record of 8 wins and 0 losses, recording their first perfect fastpitch season.Highlighting the fall season was a 2-1 win over North Lake, which was the only team to defeat the Cougars last season, and a come-from-behind 8-4 victory over a strong Heatherwood team.Behind the pitching of Carolann Lubach and Christie Robinson, the Cougs allowed opponents only 10 runs for the entire season. Lubach and Robinson combined to strike out 83 opposing batters and allowed only one earned run.When the opponents did hit the ball the defense was there to back up the pitching with Breanne Mulcahy, Tiffany Feist, Mary McCune, Kelsey Roberts and Ashley Cotton contributing with fine infield and outfield play.The hitting was as impressive with Danielle Burton, Carrie Anderson, Jamie Wegner, Lubach and Robinson all batting over .300 for the season. Kelsey Broderick, Christina Huffine and Amy Brown boasted on-base percentages of .600 or better. “
