A south Coupeville couple were visited by a rare guest this week when a white deer stopped by their home orchard for breakfast.
Ralph Becker, who lives on Elwood Drive just north of Greenbank, said the fawn spent Monday morning grazing in their orchard with its mother and sibling. The young deer wasn’t much for cameras, however, and departed after Becker snapped a photo for his scrap book.
“After I took the shot, the white one took off into the woods, leaving the rest of the family to follow,” wrote Becker, in an email to The Record.
Becker said white deer are rare and was happy to share the image with the newspaper.
