Local amateur and professional filmmakers have just a few weeks left to send in their favorite short digital films for consideration in The Clyde Theatre’s first-ever digital film contest.

A grand prize of $200 will be up for grabs, as well as smaller prizes in categories still to be determined.

Local movie industry professionals Brent Friedman and Britt Fletcher will be judging the films, along with Blake and Lynn Willeford, owners of The Clyde.

The best of the entries will be shown on the big screen throughout Choochokam in June at the free RainDance Short Film Festival at The Clyde. Entries will be shown throughout the day during the festival.

Any resident of Whidbey Island, former resident or person with a very strong attachment to Whidbey Island may enter a live-action or animated film.

All entries must be on DVD and accompanied by an entry form and a $5 entry fee. There is no limit to the number of contest films a person or group can enter.

For entry forms and additional information, go to The Clyde Theatre Web site at www.theclyde.net and click on “Special Events.”
