Deer Lagoon Grange installs 2011 officers

Newly elected officers for Deer Lagoon Grange were installed at their business meeting Tuesday, Jan. 4.

The officers serving for the year are: Kenneth Schillinger, Master (President); Charles Prochaska, Overseer (V.P.); Gary Kay, Lecturer; Scot Fredrickson, Steward; Robert Jimenez, Assistant Steward; Tarey Kay, Lady Assistant Steward; Phyllis Rainey, Chaplain; Yvette Cadwallader, Treasurer; Judith Prochaska, Secretary; Dorothy McCann, Gatekeeper; Roxanne Chamuler, Ceres; Christine Williams, Pomona; Tarey Kay, Family Activity Chairman; and Robert Cadwallader, Executive Committee (three-year term).

The Deer Lagoon Grange is one of the oldest organizations on Whidbey Island, having been in continuous operation since 1926, when it was re-chartered by Washington State Grange Deputy Master Albert S. Goss.

Goss who later became Master of the Washington State Grange and subsequently Master of the National Grange.

The grange holds it regular business meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at its hall at 5142 Bayview Road, Langley.
