Falcons pound Blaine to even league record

She banged out two doubles at the plate and gave up only 1 run in the three innings she pitched as the Falcons thumped the Borderites 14-1.Lucy Daumen came up from JV and pitched solid fourth and fifth innings as the game was cut short by the 10-run rule. South Whidbey had a field day with their bats. Bronwyn Russell went 4-for-4, while Julie Robinson, Jenny Murphy and Mary Murphy added doubles. The Falcons totalled 17 hits, while pitchers Lopez and Daumen held Blaine to a single hit. In the field the Falcons went errorless once again.It was South Whidbey’s third consecutive North Cascades Conference win after starting the season 0-3 in league. A scheduled game Tuesday at Mount Baker was rained out. The team is now 3-3 in league and 6-3 overall. Blaine fell to 3-5, 3-6.Next Tuesday the Falcons travel to Granite Falls. Wednesday they host Lakewood in a make-up game, and Thursday Lynden Christian visits South Whidbey. “
