The gallery is hosting a closing bidding opportunity party from 6-9 p.m., catered by the Smilin’ Dog, and with fancy dress optional.The exhibit features work by artists including Jane Winslow, George Cribbs, Calahan McVay, Susan O’Brien and many other island artists. The works will be offered for sale by silent auction, with Saturday the final day for a bid. Stock in the show is being sold for $5 a share, with artists receiving 50 percent of the sale price. The rest of the profits will be divided among the public shareholders. Mary Ann Mansfield, manager of Bayview Gallery, said the show’s concept has been met with enthusiasm and interest.
