“A burglary north of Greenbank in the Ledgewood Beach area resulted in the arrest of four young people last Friday.The incident began at 8 p.m. when a person living on Donahey Road reported seeing three males and one female, all wearing backpacks, running out of a nearby vacation home.Sheriff’s deputies Darren Crownover, Shawn Warwick and Don Todd responded with Lt. Evan Tingstad. Crownover encountered the suspects as they were walking along a bluff and detained them. The other officers searched the house and found a sliding door in which the glass had been broken out. One of the suspects had cuts on his hand, and all appeared to have been drinking.According to the police report, the house the suspects allegedly entered was still under construction. The main damage was to the door and to some furniture which was broken.One 18-year-old Coupeville resident, Nathan Christy, was arrested, along with a 16-year-old Greenbank male, 17-year-old Langley male, and 16-year-old Coupeville female, all on suspicion of residential burglary.Also last weekend, deputies retrieved more items from a burglary of the Island County Road Shop in Bayview. Two suspects had been arrested June 13 after being pulled over in a white van, but only some of the items taken were found.Later, deputies searched a garage of a friend of the two suspects and found more tools. The list of missing equipment ran to four pages in length, according to Sgt. Russ Lindner, who estimated their net worth at thousands of dollars. Road shop foreman Myron Gabelein was in the Sheriff’s Office Monday identifying the tools.The two suspects who were arrested may be involved in other burglaries on South Whidbey as well, Lindner said.The suspects were booked on several charges but later released on their own recognizance for medical reasons, according to Sheriff Mike Hawley. “
