A South Whidbey woman and three others were seriously injured in a four-car accident on Interstate 5 in the Mountlake Terrace area May 27, the Washington State Patrol reported.
The memo on the accident states that Shari Lueken, 35, of Freeland was driving 2018 Mazda 3 north on I-5 and struck a 2014 Ford F-150 pickup, driven by Brian Gullikson, 36, of Burlington, while at a high rate of speed.
A 2008 Honda Accord driven by Nebiyou Abebe, 47, of Seattle and 2016 Nissan Rogue driven by Isai Cruzseverino of Tukwila were also struck. A guardrail was also damaged.
The accident was reported at 3:19 a.m.
Lueken was seriously injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Gullikson and Abebe were injured and transported to Swedish Medical in Edmonds.
All four vehicles were totaled in the accident, according to the memo.
The State Patrol reports that drug and alcohol were contributing factors in the collision. Cause of the accident is under investigation.
