A crowd headed to Clinton last Saturday to make a difference by planting some gold. Sixteen volunteers planted more than 1,000 daffodil bulbs by the Clinton Progressive Hall, the coffee shop, the corner across from Whidbey Island Bank, the corner across from Cozy’s and in front of the Whidbey Telecom buildings and neighboring property for the annual Make a Difference Day.
They met at 9 a.m. despite the rain and got right to work getting their hands dirty, said volunteer Sine Hough.
“We got wet, got dirty and planted some gold. Then we had coffee at Anchor Books,” Hough said. “We had a great time and will be doing it again.”
