Goosefoot names third grant program recipient

A Langley nonprofit that created an emergency grants program for providing relief during COVID-19 has named another recipient.

Goosefoot Community Fund announced that Readiness to Learn, a Langley-based foundation partnering with schools and families, was selected as the third recipient, with a $10,000 donation from Goosefoot.

Island Senior Resources and Good Cheer Food Bank were the first two organizations to receive emergency grants from Goosefoot, with a total of $55,000 donated.

Island Senior Resources received $30,000 and Good Cheer received $25,000.

Executive Director Sandra Whiting said there is $60,000 remaining for future emergency grants.

Whiting explained that the funds will be granted to organizations dealing with emerging critical needs in the area of food security.
