Holiday celebrations galore coming to Langley

The Lighting of Langley, an annual tree-lighting ceremony, will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27.

The Village by the Sea is joining in on the holiday fun this weekend.

The Lighting of Langley, an annual progressive tree-lighting ceremony, will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27. The procession will move from Langley Park at Second Street and Anthes Avenue to the plaza on Second Street and end at Boy and Dog Park on First Street.

The trees this year will have a snow globe theme, which will match Santa’s dome next to Langley City Hall on Second Street.

Santa will be listening to kids’ wishes for presents starting at 2 p.m. on Nov. 27. He will also be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 28, Dec. 4-5, 11-12 and 18-19.

Cocoa and hot cider will be served alongside cookies from Seabiscuit Bakery, also on Nov. 27. Families will be able to participate in a Santa-themed photo opportunity inside a photo booth.

Kids will be able to call Santa and leave a message by dialing 360-444-ELF1 at any of the free phone booths run by WhidbeyTelecom. Santa can also be emailed at Santa@whidbey.com.
