Homes are needed for the South Whidbey Hearts & Hammers annual work day coming up May 2, 2015.

The annual project is dedicated to helping people stay in their homes by fixing issues they can’t do themselves because of finances or the physical demand.

Hearts & Hammers’ mission is to help neighbors stay in their homes, which is accomplished by the work of scores of volunteers who flutter around Whidbey Island laying carpet, fixing plumbing and electrical work, painting, plastering, weatherizing, cleaning, roofing and landscaping. All of this is done with no cost to the homeowner thanks to grants and donations.

Homeowners interested may apply online at www.heartsandhammers.com or by calling 360-221-6063, and a board member from Hearts & Hammers will reply. Those with emergency needs which can’t wait until May are encouraged to call immediately.

Financial donations may be made online or mailed to P.O. Box 694 Langley, WA 98260.
