Music starts a 9:30 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door.Hull, a 30-year-old singer, songwriter, storyteller, has toured over the last seven years bringing his guitar, accordion, stories and voice to universities, festivals, coffee shops, grange halls and pubs coast to coast. His music speaks of traveling and travelers, home places lost and found, and the celebration of struggle and community. Hull’s songs — such as Nailed and Boarded, a story of people forced from their Scottish homes, and Sacramento River Tune, an environmental anthem — champion social and environmental justice. He also plays rowdy political songs with an Irish flair and has shared billing with artists such as Dick Gaughan, Country Joe and the Fish, Joanne Rand, Dana Lyons and others. The recently released CD Brambleland is Hull’s third album.Appearing with Timothy Hull on Saturday is Casey Neill, a 27-year-old songwriter based in Portland, Ore., whose songs are a mix of gritty folk, crusty Celtic, and twang balladry, says Hull. Neill has been touring throughout the United States, United Kingdom and Canada for six years, performing in theaters, at universities, rock clubs, and festivals. He tours solo and with Zak Borden, which adds traditional Irish music, newgrass mandolin, and vocal harmony to the sound. Neill has shared billings with artists as diverse as Sarah McLachlan, Bonnie Raitt and Pete Seeger.Zak Borden picks mandolin, guitar and sings acoustic music that digs for the heart of bluegrass, country blues, old time and threads of Irish dance music. I’m really excited to finally get Casey and Zak to the island, Hull said. They are two of my greatest friends and top notch musicians, and we have a wonderful time playing together. It’s going to be a great time, and if that weren’t enough, it’s Zak’s birthday, so I’m sure we’ll be particularly inspired.More information on the musicians can be found by visiting their Web sites: Timothy Hull www2.whidbey.net/tinker; Casey Neill www.speakeasy.org/~jlks/casey; Zak Borden www.zakborden.com. “
