The Island County Board of Commissioners passed a proclamation proclaiming the week of May 11-17, 2014, as Police Week and May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Governor Inslee directed that Washington State and United States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff on Thursday, May 15, 2014, in recognition of the annual Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business or sunset.
