Langley Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteer painters and gardeners to help with some upkeep.

Langley Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteer painters and gardeners to help with some upkeep.

Two tasks are ahead of the helpers 8-10:30 a.m. Friday, July 26.

One project is the town’s reader board on Camano Avenue near the Langley and Maxwelton roads intersection. Helpers are asked to bring paint scrapers, wire brushes and paint brushes and expect to work a few hours to prep and paint.

The other task is the Langley Visitor Center, where the grounds are overgrown. Bring gloves, garden tools, and trimmers to restore the beds.

Meet at the Visitor’s Information Center at 208 Anthes Ave. Bring your painting and gardening tools.

If 20 painters and two gardeners show up, organizers will need to reallocate staff.

Refreshments will be provided back at the visitor center at 10:30 a.m.

Sign-up by emailing to Marc Esterly, chamber director, at langley@whidbey.com with “Yes paint” or “Yes garden.”
