Thomas Gill, a multiple-time political candidate in Langley, was honored by City Hall for volunteering his technological expertise and improving Langley’s digital abilities.
The 22-year resident of Langley and chairman of the Planning Advisory Board upgraded the city’s network, City Hall’s audio system, added back-up recording for the council chamber’s laptop, transitioned the city’s blog, proposed a City Hall podcast server, advised on hardware and software purchases, coordinated the purchase of Apple TV for wireless presentations and advised on faster Internet service.
Since 2009, Gill has volunteered as Langley’s manager of information technology. During that time he developed a three-year plan for the deployment of technology in the city.
