Local band plays for fair opening Wednesday

“Crazed Duck Soup, a band of talented young South Whidbey musicians, will provide the musical opening for the Island County Fair for Wednesday Nite Out, Aug. 15 at 4 p.m. on the Midway Stage. The band was inadvertently omitted from the Fair calendar. Members include drummer Roy Gabelein, guitarist Charlie Patnoe and bass player Miles Ranislavljevic. They specialize in jazz and Latin rock.The band will be followed by two more island groups: the Bourbon Street Delinquents at 5:30 and Delta Rain at 6:30. Other events on Wednesday include the Bunyon Busters preliminaries in the arena, and a food drive at the Paradise Amusements carnival. Ride free from 5-6 p.m. with a donation of four cans of food. Buy 10 tickets for $10 from 6-10 p.m. with each donation of four cans of food.
