Man accused of criminal impersonation, exposure

The man had been using a false name and even wore a wig on occasion.

During an investigation of an online indecent exposure case, the Oak Harbor police discovered that a man whom officers were familiar with had been using a false name and even wore a wig on occasion, according to court documents.

Now the man, whose real name is Blair A. Hewitt, is facing eight counts of criminal impersonation in the first degree and indecent expose in Island County Superior Court.

A judge set Hewitt’s bail at $50,000 on Feb. 2.

Hewitt, 43, responded to an ad that an Oak Harbor woman posted via Facebook and sent her obscene messages and a video of a man committing a solo sex act, according to the police report.

While a detective with the Oak Harbor police was investigating, she discovered that Hewitt had been stopped by officers numerous times over the prior 10 months and had identified himself as “Beau Boyd.”

He hadn’t presented the officers with an ID previously.

In one incident, Hewitt was stopped near the sight of a vehicle prowl and identified himself as Boyd.

The next day, the officer who had stopped him realized it was actually Hewitt, although Hewitt is bald and “Boyd” had hair.

When he was arrested, Hewitt allegedly admitted he had been using a false name and promised not to do it again.

He also admitted to having been wearing a wig.

Hewitt, who is homeless, said he and Boyd weren’t “besties” but that they were “basically twins,” the report states.
