A Clinton man is accused of trying to persuade his wife to kill herself with a gun, according to court documents.

Keven B. Lincks, 49, appeared in Island County Superior Court Nov. 29. The judge found probable cause existed to believe Lincks committed two domestic violence-related crimes, namely promoting a suicide attempt and assault in the fourth degree.

On Nov. 28, a deputy with the Island County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report that a woman was being abused by her husband, later identified as Lincks, according to the deputy’s report on the incident.

The woman reported that Lincks had held her down against her will and ripped a large clump of hair from her scalp.

The woman claimed that Lincks got out a handgun during the argument, loaded it, handed it to her and repeatedly insisted that she kill herself, the report states. He also implied that he would kill her if she didn’t do it herself, according to the report.

The woman also told the deputies that there were unreported domestic assaults that went back years; she said she had an injury to her nose and arm from previous assaults that month, the report states.
