Man charged in baby shaking

A 34-year-old Langley man was charged this week with two counts of first-degree assault on a child for alleged actions that led to an Aug. 5 airlift at the Clinton ferry dock.

“A 34-year-old Langley man was charged this week with two counts of first-degree assault on a child for alleged actions that led to an Aug. 5 airlift at the Clinton ferry dock.The Island County Prosecutor’s Office summoned Langley’s Brian Webb to Island County Superior Court to face the charges. According to chief criminal deputy Steve Shelby, Webb allegedly shook his 4-month-old child on or about Aug. 4. The following day, while waiting in the ferry line with the infant, Webb had to call for medical assistance when the child went into a seizure. The child was later airlifted to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.Selby said the child is still experiencing medical difficulties related to the assault, including an equilibrium disorder. He said Webb will be arraigned Friday. If convicted of the crime, he could serve between 10 and 12 years in prison. “
