According to Webster’s Dictionary, the difference between “joy” and “rejuvenation” is clear. Joy is simply “gladness,” while rejuvenation is “to make young again.”
By the book, this is a pretty big difference. But at a new Langley day spa, the separation between joy and relaxation is only about two hours.
The Oriental Healing Arts Day Spa in Langley provides both to its clients, using massage, cleansing and detoxifying treatments, aroma therapy, Asian body work and many forms of oriental medicine to relax the mind and body.
The spa, which is located in the Camano Center building in Langley, and its staff offers these treatments two packages named “Joy” and “Rejuvenation.”
Spa owner Julie Keegan said a trip to the spa includes just about everything that can make a person feel good.
“We won’t paint your nails or trim your bangs, but the experience here will bring out the beauty that is inside all of us through relaxation and healing,” she said.
“Rejuvenation” is a five-hour experience that includes a herbal hand and foot soak; one hour reflexology of the microsystems in the ears, hands and feet; one hour massage devoted to face, scalp and neck; a seaweed facial mask; and a 90-minute full body massage with Asian body work methods of tui na, gwa sha or shiatsu as warranted, with special attention to the abdomen. Also included is a light organic lunch, mineral and sound wave therapies, cleansing and detoxifying, hyperthermia treatment, and a shower and transition period at the end is also provided.
“Joy” is an abbreviated experience, about three hours of the longer package. “Joy”-ful clients receive a body massage; herbal hand and foot work, reflexology, mineral and sound wave therapy and the hyperthermia treatment.
Both spa packages include a private room, organic fruit, tea, juice and filtered water, a robe, eye pillow, and towel soap and shampoo are provided. No accessories from home are necessary.
Options that may be added to both include personalized aromatherapy for and a seaweed body wrap.
