Northwest Workforce Development Council seeks applicants

The Island County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to serve on the Northwest Workforce Development Council.

The commissioners appoint Workforce Development Council members for two or three-year terms, renewable by mutual agreement.

Washington State is divided into 12 Service Delivery Areas, with Island County’s consisting of the four counties — Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan and Island.

Island County’s representation includes two members from the private sector, one from K-12 local education, one from community-based representation and one representing economic development.

The current position to be filled is from the private or business sector.
