Kay Schluter
Kay Schluter died peacefully at home April 2, 2002, after a long illness.
Born in New York City March 2, 1920, Kay spent much of her youth travelling the United States and Mexico with her parents before moving to Snohomish. There she met her husband, Dick Schluter, and together they set out on a wonderful journey raising their two children, Joan and Larry.
Kay loved to garden, read and spend time entertaining family and friends. She was a selfless individual, always wondering how she could make others happy.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan, and a grandson, Lance.
She is survived by Dick Schluter, her loving companion and caregiver for the past 62 years; a son, Larry, and daughter-in-law Cathy; and seven grandchildren, Jason, Tim, Kim, Sarah, Rachel Schluter, Sharmaine Olson and Eric Liljenberg.
Kay’s spirit was a living example of complete faith and trust in the promise of everlasting life. Rest in peace, dear Kay.
A memorial service will be held at at 2 p.m. April 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Freeland.
