The South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District board voted unanimously Tuesday to accept maintenance responsibility for the Deer Lake, Goss Lake and Lone Lake public access sites in 2010.

The district took over the properties from Island County, which had an agreement to maintain the properties with the state of Washington.

Parks commissioners will consider extending the agreement based on the results of the maintenance-and-operations levy that will go to voters on Feb. 9.
