Port of South Whidbey town hall planned

Port of South Whidbey Commissioner Curt Gordon will host a town hall meeting on district related issues in Clinton next week.

The meeting is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 6 at Cozy’s Roadhouse, 8872 Highway 525 in Clinton.

Topics will include the port’s Possession Point boat ramp renovation project, the current status of the Clinton Dock at the ferry terminal, a Clinton market study that’s examining the area’s business and economic potential, a “kiss and ride” at the ferry terminal and the universal access project at Clinton Beach Park.

All three port commissioners are expected to attend, but no action is planned. The meeting was organized and paid for by Gordon with leftover campaign funds; state law allows him to spend the money in this way, he said.

Gordon decided to hold the meeting himself, and fund it with campaign money because he wanted to serve food and hold it in a fun place.
