Thanks to donors’ generosity, the playground at Greenbank Farm is getting a facelift.

The Port of Coupeville is adding two new pieces, replacing all the borders and bringing in 20 yards of mulch to spruce up the setup.

Port Executive Director Chris Michalopoulos said this project was made possible by volunteers who donated $2530, including a Port commissioner who personally contributed $300.

The Port is also putting $4,000 toward the playground upgrade.

“We have so many kids that use this area, along with so many families,” Michalopoulos said. “It was time to put some energy into it.”

Work on the project is slated to begin June 17, with the revamped playground opening in the beginning of July.
