“Becky Brager doesn’t want to think that thieves would steal from the Langley Cemetery. Instead, she hopes there was just some misunderstanding and that the items decorating her husband’s grave will be returned.Les Brager, a popular South Whidbey resident who worked in the galley of state ferries for many years, died at the age of 57 last January. This spring, his wife Becky decided to decorate his grave with things he loved.She placed a metal stand about five feet high above the grave, from which she hung a bird feeder shaped like a lantern. He loved birds and he loved lanterns, she said. From the other side of the stand she planned to hang wind chimes shaped like elk, which Les also loved.But when Becky returned to the grave Monday, the stand and bird feeder were gone. With tears in her eyes, she asked that anyone who knows its whereabouts sees that it is returned to its proper place.Whoever borrowed it, please bring it back, she said.”
