“Whidbey Island Marimba is sponsoring a performance of the Shona music of Zimbabwe on Nov. 5, 7 p.m. at Langley United Methodist Church, featuring two mbira masters. The mbira is the primary traditional instrument of the Shona people, played for over 1,000 years for religious rituals, royal courts and social occasions.
