Kids, or at least their pursestring-holding parents, still believe in book fairs on South Whidbey. The recent South Whidbey Elementary School book fair brought in $6,000, the most ever for the South Whidbey School District’s K-5 program.
New books, subscriptions and reading programs will be funded with the money.
“A huge thanks goes out to Donna Riley and Dawn Marsh who practically lived at the book fair for a week,” said Superintendent Jo Moccia in her online update
Dec. 3. “We also appreciate the small army of volunteers who worked so hard on this event.”
