“The 2001 season has begun for the Greenbank Farm’s Sunday Market, open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Sunday through the summer and early fall. Vendors sell garden vegetables, fruit, herbs, nuts, plant starts, baked goods, beverages, honey, catch of the day, crafts, fine art or concessions. There are organizations with informational tables or a bake sale, and entertainers are on site to sing, dance, act or demonstrate their hobbies.Bowmen and borestuffers, sheep herders and carders, rope makers, blacksmiths, glass blowers, poets, artisans … all are welcome, said Sarah Birger, interim market manager with Stevie Linton.We are starting our fourth season and have tripled in profit and average number of vendors since 1998, Birger said. The Sunday Market on the publicly owned Greenbank Farm is unique: It is situated between picturesque barns, has ample parking, and offers opportunities for picnics, hikes, kite flying and other family fun.The Greenbank Farm also operates a wine shop, tasting room and retail gift store featuring regionally produced products.The market will be open until National Children’s Day, Oct. 14.
