SWHS wind ensemble wins gold in Canada

The South Whidbey High School Wind Ensemble received a gold medal in the Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival in Vancouver, Canada, on April 24.

The South Whidbey High School Wind Ensemble received a gold medal in the Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival in Vancouver, Canada, on April 24.

The wind ensemble, directed by Chris Harshman, competed against senior concert bands from across western Canada and is now eligible to compete in the Canadian National Competition.

The judges also awarded a special recognition to the ensemble for a challenging program and its mature musicianship.
