In a message posted on the district’s webpage, Moccia said administrators had reached an agreement with teachers, ending a five-day strike.

“We are pleased to be able to get back to our joint mission of educating our students,” Moccia said.

South Whidbey Education Association teachers voted to strike at a meeting this past Wednesday. They hit the streets Thursday picketing, and continued to do so until Monday when a deal was struck.

The details of the agreement were not immediately clear Tuesday morning, but more information will be posted as it becomes available.
