“Though this 1972 Jeep tumbled about 80 feet down a steep embankment on Possession Road Saturday, neither of its occupants was badly hurt.Matt Johnson, staff photoTwo teenaged boys riding in a collectible 1972 Jeep miraculously avoided severe injury Saturday afternoon when they lost control of their vehicle and drove over a steep embankment on Possession Road.According to the Island County Sheriff’s Office, Reilly Buchholz, 15, of Clinton drove over the edge of Possession Road near Franklin Road at about 2 p.m. His vehicle hit several trees before it came to rest about halfway down the steep drop to a lower portion of Possession Road. Buchholz and his passenger, Kent Taylor of Shoreline, had been seen driving in Possession Point Park and the surrounding area along with a black pickup truck. At the time of the accident, an eyewitness observed both vehicles driving recklessly, according to the Sheriff’s Office.Both Buchholz and Taylor exited the wrecked Jeep, then drove away from the accident scene in the pickup truck that was seen traveling with them. The accident was later reported by an area resident. Sheriff’s Deputy Darren Crownover located Buchholz within an hour of the accident. The boy was at his Sandy Hook Drive home. He was treated at the house by Fire Protection District 3 medical personnel, then was transported to Whidbey General Hospital for treatment. Taylor was later located at his Shoreline home when Dept. Crownover contacted his father. Taylor also received treatment for minor injuries.Crownover cited Buchholz for reckless driving and for driving without a valid license. The Jeep suffered extensive damage in the accident. “
