The company will open its centrally located Internet Data Center in Everett within the next 30 days.Henny, advanced technology manager for WhidbeyNet, admitted his presentation about ADSL lines, fiber communications, wireless and the like might have been a bit complex for the breakfast audience. It’s kind of technical, he said, but we’re looking forward to bringing the communications of the future to Whidbey Island today.Verizon is the new name of General Telephone, and serves Whidbey Island from Greenbank north and all of Camano Island, plus many mainland customers. Over $9 million has been invested the last five years on the island, said spokeswoman Marilyn Hoggarth.
