Island County is seeking applicants to serve on the Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve Trust Board in an at-large position.

The Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve Trust Board consists of nine members, three representing the town of Coupeville, three representing Island County, one member at large, one representative of State Parks and one representative of the National Parks Service.

County commissioners appoint members to the trust board for four-year terms. The term of the open position will run until Oct. 1, 2013.

The Reserve was created as a unit of the National Park System in 1978, and the trust board was established in 1988 to administer and manage the historical reserve. Trust Board members are enrolled as Volunteers in Parks (VIPs) and perform duties as assigned by the National Parks Service.

Application materials should be received no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11.
