Doug Benecke will give the talk “Ordinary Ecstasy” at the Unity of Whidbey service on Sunday.
The renewing powers of spring are evident now, for those who have eyes to see. Like seeds sleeping underground, like buds dormant on a bare branch, our vital energies lean toward a time of blossoming. What we are fed by, in our own practice, and in community, is that transcendent connection – what we may call ordinary ecstasy – that links us, over and over, to an awareness of a greater presence.
Benecke, a songwriter and speaker, will explore the relationships between ecstasy, empathy and community, with beloved musical companionship. Quin Serra will be the platform assistant.
All are welcome. The service is 10 a.m. Sunday at Unity’s church at 5671 Crawford Road.
