Violin and guitar duo Duo Nayarit to play at UUCWI

Duo Nayarit is a violin and guitar duo with Antonio Navarro, guitarist, and Teo Benson, violinist.

There will be a concert at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island on Oct. 6, where Senor Navarro of Guadalajara will play solo for the first half of the concert.

“This is Antonio’s specialty,” said church representatives. “The opportunity to hear him should not be missed.”

Navarro will play music by Leo Brouwer, Nikita Koshkin, Antonio Lauro, and Carlo Domeniconi, among others. ]

During the second half of the concert, Navarro will be joined by Nayarit, Whidbey Island native Teo Benson, currently director of Halcyon Strings School of Music and first violinist with Symphony Tacoma.

The two musicians will play duos by Nicolo Pagaini, Fritz Kriesler, and selected movements of the famous “Histoire du Tango” by Astor Piazzolla.
