Voters forum is set for Sept. 24

Individuals vying for county and state positions in the upcoming November election will answer questions at the Clinton Community Council’s Candidate Forum, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sept. 24 at Clinton Community Hall.

The event, which is co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Whidbey Island, will feature candidates running for Island County sheriff, state representative and county commissioner.

Questions for the candidates can be submitted to info@clintoncommunitycouncil.org.

The non-partisan, moderated forum will focus on South Whidbey-centric issues, according to Christina Swan, Clinton Community Council secretary.

Afterwards, there will be time for the public to meet sheriff candidates Lane Campbell and Rick Felici, county commissioner candidates Rick Hannold and Janet St. Clair and state representative candidates for positions 1 and 2 Norma Smith, Scott McMullen, Dave Hayes and Dave Paul.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the forum starts at 6:30 p.m; Each position will have its own question-and-answer session. Doug Hofius, council president, will moderate.
