The advisory is in effect until 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Winds are expected to grow stronger throughout the afternoon and continue through the evening before tapering off overnight. Southeast winds from 20 to 35 mph are forecast, with possible gusts from 40 to 50 mph.

Officials said the high winds may knock over small trees and cause power outages.

Wind advisories are issued when sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph or gusts of 45 to 57 mph are likely.
