The live Internet broadcast will feature Conductor of Fun Jim Freeman as emcee, with No Band Is an Island playing as the house band.The Wired@WICA series builds on the success of several earlier live Internet broadcasts from WICA, in which the show involves not only the performers and the live theater audience but the computer audience as well.It’s like live radio with a live studio audience, Freeman said. But the listening audience can participate as well. There’s a circle of interaction connecting the performers and the live audience and the computer audience, all at the same time.Internet listeners will hear a real-time broadcast of the music and see digital photographs taken and posted by the on-stage crew throughout the show. Live audience members will hear on-line guest book entries made during the show and participate in Jim Freeman’s signature fun, such as product giveaways from his garage and contests for dubious prizes.This is Swamp Mama Johnson’s last Whidbey performance, the band said. After 10 years of performing their famous funky bluesy groove thang, the five artists are moving into new ventures.
