Woman accused of hitting sleeping man with beer bottle

A 39-year-old Oak Harbor woman is accused of hitting a sleeping man on the head with a beer bottle, according to court documents.

Alexandra Culdice is also accused of possessing a stolen car and methamphetamine in an incident earlier this year.

On May 15, a man at an Oak Harbor apartment told police that he fell asleep while watching a movie with Culdice and was awoken by her smacking him on his forehead with a beer bottle, the police report states. The man had a large “goose egg” contusion that was bleeding, the officer wrote.

Culdice then went outside, yelled at a woman sitting on the steps and threw a beer bottle at the woman. She then ran away.

A few hours later, an employee at a 7-Eleven store reported that Culdice had stolen beer, the report states. The officers found her at a nearby parking lot and arrested her. She denied striking the man with a bottle.

On May 18, a judge found probable cause existed to believe she committed the crime of assault in the second degree. Her bail was set at $5,000.

On March 9, an Oak Harbor man reported to police that his 2005 Mercury Monterey had been stolen. Police found it a few hours later parked at the Liberty Mart.

Security footage showed that Culdice parked the car at the gas pumps and walked off. Police found her later in the day walking with a suitcase and other bags. She had a broken glass pipe in her pocket, the report states.

Police arrested her on suspicion of possessing a stolen motor vehicle and possession of meth.
