“The CADA Institute, part of Citizens Against Domestic and Sexual Abuse, will present a free workshop called Know Your Rights, to help victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. The workshop will be offered Monday, Sept. 17, 5:30-7 p.m. at the Oak Harbor Senior Center, 51 SE Jerome St. It is designed to help victims, as well as their friends and family, understand and utilize the local legal system.Workshop topics include the Victims’ Bill of Rights, the Island County criminal process, children and domestic violence, how to obtain a protection order, and an overview of community resources.To make the workshop accessible and convenient, CADA can help withtransportation, child care and interpreters.
