“Photo: Paul Benz, far left, and Patrick Moote, far right, perform this weekend with the Young Actor Institute in Seattle.Patrick Moote and Paul Benz of Clinton will be on stage today and Sunday, Aug. 26 and 27 at the Eve Alvord Theatre at Seattle Center, in a performance by the Young Actor Institute, the most advanced training program of the Seattle Children’s Theatre Drama School. Moote and Benz are part of a 26-member troupe of students ages 15-19 who were selected for the YAI. All students auditioned for placement in the program, and have trained with some of Seattle’s finest professional theater artists under local director Rita Giomi.Following an intensive six-week training course, the young actors have been preparing to showcase their talent during a challenging rehearsal period. The stage performance for the public will include scene study, improvisation, musical theatre and stage combat. Curtain is at 7 p.m., admission is free, but donations will be accepted to support the program. For more information, call 206-443-0807.
