Alfred Henry Clausen: Aug. 2, 1930 – Nov. 5, 2020

Alfred Henry Clausen born August 2nd, 1930, in Spokane, Wash., and died Nov. 5, 2020, on Whidbey Island, Wash. He was the son of the late Henry and Jane (Woodring) Clausen and brother to Phyllis Fasano (deceased).

Graduating from Seattle University in 1952, Al served in the U.S. Army and married Corrine Del Missier in 1953. After his military service, Al began a career in the business equipment field culminating in his ownership of Washington Business Equipment for over 30 years.

Al loved his waterfront home on Whidbey Island, the hub for his family and scene for many memorable events. Al was known for his kindness, charm and quirky sense of humor. Al had many interests including boating, hunting/fishing, skiing and traveling, but cars were Al’s passion. He owned more than 100 over the years — every car was his favorite, which lead to his ownership of a used car dealership in Clinton, Wash., in his “retirement years.” Al also loved his dogs and mourned the passing of each and every one of them from Skipper to Jocko.

Al is survived by his wife Corrine; son Richard G. and his children Nicole and Heather; son Douglas T. and his children Timothy, Katie and Megan; and daughter Janine Hauser and her children Sidney Corrine and James. Services will be private with a summer memorial planned.
