Alta Irene Brodie was born Jan. 30, 1912 to Fred Cushman and Mildred Mills. She passed on Monday, May 28, 2018. She was married to Alexander M. Brodie in November 1931.They had five children together: Irene (Bill) Rohweder, Ralph (Sharon) Brodie, Marilyn (Ralph) Lueken, Dick (Deanie) Brantley, Del (Peggy)Brodie.

Alta was the oldest living graduate of Lake Stevens High School and was also involved in the Boston University Medical study on longevity.

Alta was born in Everett and lived there for five years with one of only two company telephones in their house, they also had hot and cold running water. At 5 years old, her family moved to the farm on the Pilchuck River with no running water and an outhouse for a bathroom.

There were nine living children in the Cushman family. She was number four and the last to find her resting place with Jesus.
