Arvella Marie Maxwell: Jan. 10, 1935-Sept. 5, 2017

Arvella Marie Maxwell, 82, passed away on Sept. 5, 2017 after a 6-year battle with breast cancer. She spent the last two weeks of her life in the loving care of Enso House. The family gives everyone at Enso House their greatest gratitude.

Arvella was born in Fort Frances, Ontario Canada to Xavier and Beatrice Albert. Arvella met her husband Gerald Maxwell at a roller rink in 1950 and they were married on May 5, 1953. They just celebrated 64 years of marriage.

She was a member of St. Hubert Catholic Church and an active member of the Women of St. Hubert. She loved to knit and craft and was a prolific contributor to their annual bazaars. She loved to bake cookies and did lots of canning and gave a lot of it away.

Arvella is survived by her husband Gerald Maxwell, daughter Renee’ Bilyeu and husband Russ, grandchildren Rebecca Bilyeu and partner Larry Kleinke, Brandon Bilyeu and wife Kim Mahi, Bradley Bilyeu and wife Crystal and great-grandson Axel Bilyeu. Also surviving are sisters Royline Baduik and Olive Hache’. She was preceded in death by her son, John A. Maxwell.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Langley, Wash. with Rev. Richard Spicer as celebrant. All are welcome to the funeral mass as well as the reception in the church hall immediately following the mass. Rite of committal at Bayview Cemetery will follow the reception.

The family suggests memorials in Arvella’s name to Enso House, 6339 Wahl Road, Freeland, WA 98249.
