Bob Chamberlain: February 10, 1939 – October 15, 2021

Bob Chamberlain, a longtime Oak Harbor resident and active community member, passed away after living with Parkinson’s for the past 25 years. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at 82 years old on October 15, 2021 surrounded by loved ones.

Bob attended BYU in Provo, Utah and earned a degree in Business. In 1978, he brought his family to Oak Harbor and opened the Burger King with his long-time friend and business partner, Wally Orwall. He served his community as a member of Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce. He also supported the Whidbey Playhouse and sponsored many youth sports teams.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved life and enjoyed running, scuba diving, skiing, playing cards, beautifying his yard and spending time with his family.

Family was the most important thing to Bob. He married, Sharon, his high school sweetheart, in 1960. They were blessed with 3 devoted children. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sharon Chamberlain, 3 children: Michelle (John), Brian (Darla), Danny (Christy), 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 sister, Linda, and 1 brother, Mike. He will undoubtedly be missed by the many lives he impacted.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 201 N.E. Oleary Street in Oak Harbor on Saturday October 23 at 1:30. Family and friends are encouraged to donate to The Michael J Fox Foundation https://www.michaeljfox.org/donate/ in lieu of flowers.
