C. Mike Holmberg: June 1, 1941 – Feb. 8, 2020

C. Mike Holmberg passed away in Bremerton, Wash., on Feb. 8, 2020.

Born in Bremerton to Carl and Minnie Hoglund Holmberg on June 1, 1941, he spent most of his life in Washington state. Always the entrepreneur, he raised chickens for eggs as a young boy and loved the farming life.

He graduated from Sequim High School in 1959, spending his free time working on dairy farms with his best friend, Gregg Stone. He attended Washington State University for a year before giving in to the needs of work.

He was a career salesman, retiring from his own business in 1999.

In retirement, he purchased some acreage on Whidbey Island, Wash., where he created a farm with chickens, cows and a grand garden. He loved all animals. When not working on the farm, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by both parents; sister, Ann Martin Beam; and adopted son, Kevin Holmberg.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Marlene Erickson; siblings, John (Bernice) and Marilyn Holmberg; sons, Eric and Jeff Holmberg; daughter, Missy Anderson; niece, Waynora; nephew, Lance Martin; and grandchildren, Jessica, Jay, Casey and Haley Holmberg.

In his legacy, he will continue to support animals and farmers through the Humane Society, FFA and other organizations.

Due to COVID-19, his celebration of life was postponed until June 1, 2021, his birthday, tentatively to be held at the Elks Club in Sequim, Wash. Any questions, communications or contributions to his causes can be directed to Missy Anderson at 360-801-4425.
